About
Dr Alan Pearce is a Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Cognitive and Exercise Neuroscience laboratory with the School of Psychology. Alan also contributes to higher degree student supervision in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, and is an Honorary Research Fellow with the School of Physiotherapy, Melbourne School of Health Sciences at The University of Melbourne. A neurophysiologist with a Bachelor's degree in Science (with Honours) and PhD in Neurophysiology, Alan's research interests include using transcranial stimulation techniques (TMS, rTMS and tDCS) to assess neuroplastic adaptations associated with learning and working memory, rehabilitation for people with neurological and neurodegenerative conditions. Alan is also involved in neural responses following fatigue, pain and muscle damage.
When not in the lab, Alan enjoys road cycling with mates and colleagues.
